PONS is ripping higher again, but the most interesting thing about its rally is that it is not really a conventional meme coin.
The Robinhood Chain token is trading at $0.58424 after gaining 57.68% in 24 hours and 371.55% over the past week. PONS has benefited from the explosion of meme-token trading on Robinhood Chain, but it is actually the native token behind Pons, the launchpad powering much of that activity.
The platform has become a serious business remarkably quickly – DeFiLlama recorded $5.95 million in Pons fees over 24 hours, with 30-day fees reaching $40.84 million and DEX volume approaching $600 million. Binance Alpha also added PONS trading on September 2, widening access to the token.
That makes PONS an interesting lesson for anyone looking for the best memecoins to buy. Meme culture can attract users, but tokens with something beneath the branding may offer more ways to capture the activity they generate.
Bitcoin Hyper, LiquidChain, and Maxi Doge approach that idea differently. The first two are infrastructure projects that appeal to the same retail presale market, while MAXI is an outright meme coin that aims to give its community more to do than simply hold the token.
Bitcoin Hyper (HYPER): Meme-Era Branding Meets Serious Bitcoin Infrastructure
Bitcoin Hyper (HYPER) certainly has the kind of loud branding designed to catch attention in a crowded presale market, but the project beneath it is tackling a very real limitation of Bitcoin.
Its Layer 2 uses the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM), the high-speed execution environment behind Solana applications, to add a programmable layer to Bitcoin that can handle much faster activity.

Bitcoin still provides the underlying settlement network, while the Layer 2 performs transactions and smart contract execution. BTC can therefore be used for real-world payments and applications without asking Bitcoin’s comparatively slow base chain to process every interaction directly.
HYPER, as a token, serves as gas for activity on the Layer 2, while holders can also stake it and participate in governance.
Investors have already committed $33 million to the presale, with HYPER currently available for $0.01368. Staking offers 35% APY, and Coinsult and SpyWolf have reviewed the token contracts.
PONS is showing how a token can benefit from the infrastructure beneath a speculative market. HYPER is making a much larger version of that bet around Bitcoin itself.
LiquidChain (LIQUID): The Picks-and-Shovels Bet on a Multichain Market
LiquidChain (LIQUID) has even less in common with a traditional meme coin – it only dresses as one at a mascot level – but PONS provides a useful comparison.
Some traders are buying the tokens launched through Pons, and others have instead bought exposure to the infrastructure that helps those launches and trades.

LiquidChain takes that approach to the wider blockchain market. Its Layer 3 is designed to coordinate activity across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana through a shared execution environment. A cross-chain virtual machine and unified proof engine allow the protocol to verify the states of all three networks rather than forcing every action onto a single blockchain.
That can simplify experiences that are currently awkwardly multistep: A user managing assets across several networks can interact through a single interface instead of repeatedly switching networks and routing funds through bridges.
Longer transactions involving two chains can be executed atomically, meaning the entire sequence completes or rolls back as a single unit. And probably the best feature is creating one shared liquidity ocean from crypto’s three deepest pools.
The presale has reached $960,000, moving LIQUID toward its first $1 million milestone at $0.0149 per token. Staking currently offers 1,188% APY.
Exchange listings and continued Layer 3 development follow the presale, and if crypto keeps spreading activity across several successful networks, LIQUID makes the divisions between them increasingly irrelevant to users.
Maxi Doge (MAXI): This One Really Is a Meme Coin
Maxi Doge (MAXI) makes no attempt to hide what it is: the project turns Dogecoin’s familiar Shiba Inu into an overleveraged bodybuilder obsessed with charts, gym gains, and outperforming everyone around him. It is built for precisely the kind of retail audience currently turning Robinhood Chain into a meme-token factory.
But Maxi Doge is also trying to build activity around the meme: its roadmap includes trading competitions and tournaments, rewarding community members for performance rather than leaving holders with nothing to do after buying the token.
Planned partnerships with futures platforms could further strengthen that competitive trading identity after launch.

MAXI has raised $4.85 million before reaching exchanges, a substantial result for a meme presale. Tokens cost $0.00028, while staking currently offers 64% APY.
SolidProof and Coinsult have audited the token contracts – a welcome touch on a meme coin – while exchange listings and community competitions sit further along the roadmap.
PONS has demonstrated just how much activity meme traders can generate when they congregate around the right platform. Maxi Doge is building a recognizable community before public trading even starts.
Meme Coins Are Starting to Look More Complicated
PONS gaining almost 47% in a day is eye-catching, but the launchpad underneath the token may be the more important story. Pons has turned meme speculation into millions of dollars in fees and hundreds of millions in trading activity.
That makes the line between memes and utility increasingly blurry, with HYPER using retail-friendly branding to sell serious Bitcoin infrastructure, LIQUID as a pure infrastructure bet on multichain activity, and MAXI taking the meme route while adding competitions and planned trading partnerships.
The meme can bring people through the door, but the projects worth watching are the ones that give them a reason to stay.
