JPMorgan Asset Management has projected a 10% annualized return for Bitcoin over the next 10 to 15 years in its 2027 Long-Term Capital Market Assumptions. This projection puts the asset ahead of U.S. large-cap stocks, REITs and gold, as Bitcoin trades near $81,526 on October 20, down 0.50% on the day. The forecast gives investors an institutional long-term case at a time when the daily chart shows consolidation rather than a breakout, but it is not a near-term price target. That gap between the long view and the current chart is also where Bitcoin Hyper, a Bitcoin Layer 2 project in presale, is trying to gain attention.

JPMorgan’s 2027 assumptions forecast Bitcoin at 20.9% annual return (55% volatility), outperforming US large-cap stocks (7.5%), REITs (8.2%) and gold (5.5%). The upside case therefore comes with sharp swings rather than a smooth climb.

Corporate demand continues alongside it: Strategy repurchased $193 million of its STRC preferred stock, acquired 267 BTC and raised its digital credit securities repurchase program to $3 billion.

Index risk is also on the radar, since MSCI has adopted rules to exclude non-operating companies, and an earlier simulation flagged Strategy and Metaplanet as potential removals. The final list of affected constituents is due on November 11, with the rules taking effect after the November 30 close.

Can Bitcoin Reclaim $87,337 After Holding the 50-Day EMA?

On the daily chart, Bitcoin is consolidating just above the $80,556 horizontal level, with the 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) at $80,620.9 sitting directly beneath the current price. The 200-day EMA at $76,023.5 and the $74,340 level form the next layers of support, and together they keep the longer-term recovery intact unless price breaks materially lower. Above the market, $87,337.4 marks the recent high zone, with $97,902.3 as the next major level on the chart.

In the bull case, buyers defend the $80,556 area, push through the $82,000 mark and build toward $87,337, where a clean break would put the $90,000 round number in view.

In the base case, price consolidates between $80,556 and $87,337 while traders wait for stronger flows, with ETF outflows still contrasting with corporate buying. In the bear case, a loss of the 50-day EMA exposes $76,023 and then $74,340.

A decade-long forecast does not settle this week’s trade, so confirmation still has to come from price action and demand.

Why Is Bitcoin Hyper Drawing Attention While Bitcoin Tests Key Levels?

Bitcoin’s long-range investment case is gaining institutional recognition, and a market that keeps building a base near $80,000 gives traders time to look at where the next layer of Bitcoin infrastructure could emerge.

Bitcoin Hyper presents itself as the fastest Bitcoin Layer 2 chain, built around the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) to bring faster smart-contract execution to Bitcoin. The project says it targets fast, low-cost Bitcoin transactions for payments, meme coins, and dApps, with low-latency processing and a decentralized canonical bridge for BTC transfers.

The presale is live, and the project reports a token price of $0.0136877 with $33,212,442.92 raised, 35% staking rewards and 37 days left on the countdown.
