We have a real reason to be on the blockchain. We are confident that we are solving real problems that exist in today’s profile verification methodologies. And the power of the blockchain has given us complete control and provides us with the flexibility to develop a trustworthy verification and attestation process from ground up.
Project Spring Foundation is building the Spring network from the ground up, while considering all stakeholders. Users are fairly incentivized with SPRING as are attesters, ultimately providing a highly useful and validated resource for recruiters and prospective employers, partners and others. In fact, by fairly incentivizing users, users are always the central focus of the network.
The value of a social network, like LinkedIn, is derived from the individuals that use the network. The users of the network lend their value to the platform - without them the platform cannot thrive. Most platforms are free of charge for users with revenue streams from advertisements or services that monetize user data.
That said, users -- who often spend time on the platform curating their profile and adding valuable content -- receive almost no share of the monetary benefit, which instead accrues to the corporate sponsor (e.g., LinkedIn). User data drives the value of the platform without the user being fairly rewarded for their respective data.
Moreover, since networks like LinkedIn host professional profiles of businesses and individuals, incentivizing participation is key as it increases the value of the business and ultimately the platform.
Resumes are typically the first point of contact that potential employers have with candidates. They contain the key facets that we would like to showcase about our professional profile. Resumes are essential and will likely continue to hold weight for the foreseeable future.
However, in todayʼs world it has become common to have falsified or incorrect information on resumes. The onus is on the company to comb through resumes and use background verification and reference checks to ensure everything stated is valid.
Blockchain technologies have, for the first time, enabled an easily integrable and scalable solution where everyone can have an immutable and synchronized digital ledger. We believe that the time is right to build a protocol allowing people to have verified resumes and recommendations powered on the blockchain.
This provides a simplistic yet powerful solution to those in the job-seeking and hiring space. A new paradigm will emerge encouraging increased confidence in what we read online about another personʼs professional profile. Additionally, as the protocol is powered by the blockchain it is possible to cryptographically verify the information as and when needed.
While there are several use cases that can emerge once such a system is implemented, the main focus is on developing a robust protocol that helps solve a critical issue in the hiring and validation process.

SpringRole is a product for profile verification and yet their KYC is not done here :)
Greg Gilman is repeated twice in the advisor list btw.
I like the vision of the product, however its market size is limited to ICOs and limited to a very small function. That makes me wonder its revenue potential after raising millions.
Product has a beta out and I checked it, which is good.

SpringRole attempts to take on professional social networks like LinkedIn by utilizing blockchain technology and a token model to incentivize truthful validation of an individual's professional experience.
This is perhaps one of the most ideal use cases for blockchain technology, where its public and immutable nature, combined with socialized validation are ideal as a reference and validation tool.
Today we have LinkedIn as the largest professional network. However, information is not validated - in fact, users can make completely fake profiles with no recourse, which has actually happened in a few ICO's. Beyond this, despite significant profits off of the back of its users, not a single penny goes to the end user - everything trickles up to the shareholders and executives that run the company, a product of centralization and capitalism.
SpringRole tries to solves this by utilizing a token model to reward validators for their input. The implications of a platform like this are significant - for the first time we can have a high assurance that a person's profile is truthful, and accurate - mitigating instances of fraud and economic loss as a result of false or misleading information. Companies stand to benefit from the reduction of background checks - a process that could be repeated multiple times for the same candidate, by simply using SpringRole to review an individuals resume.
SpringRole is not the first company to try to tackle this problem, but competition is still quite light. Beyond this, the advisory team is proven with a track records of successful exits, including the $1B exit of Dollar Shave Club to Unilever. The execution team clearly has its strengths indexed into the tech side, and only time will prove whether or not they can scale and create awareness from a business and marketing side.
