Cardano News: Draper University Announces the Genesis Pre-Accelerator Cohort

Draper University, Dasha Nikolaeva, and Orion Fund published the cohort reveal, describing Genesis as an immersive residency for early-stage technical teams at Draper University’s headquarters in San Mateo, California.

Selected founders receive up to $20,000 in investment, full residency, and direct access to founders, operators, and investors. The program concludes with a dedicated Pitch Day for angel investors and early-stage venture capital firms.

The 13 named teams include Harmonic Laboratories, Ospree, RiverArk Systems, Hito, Lava, BETTER web3, ChatterPay, Agent-to-Agent, ADApose Labs, Web3 Bounties, Rare Network, ENVNT, Volta Nexos Group, and Tata iMali.

Their work spans institutional DeFi, payments, compliance, enterprise infrastructure, and other Web3 applications.

Payments, Compliance and Institutional DeFi

Ospree is building compliance infrastructure for companies moving value across fiat, stablecoin, and digital-asset rails. Its application identifies Travel Rule, AML, and licensing requirements as important considerations for banks and virtual asset service providers.

RiverArk is developing non-custodial Lightning rails that enable merchants and point-of-sale systems to accept crypto and settle in US dollars. ChatterPay is building stablecoin payments inside WhatsApp and is testing Cardano-based wallets and transfers with existing users.

On the institutional DeFi side, Lava’s L-ADA product is designed to keep staked ADA earning rewards while it is deployed as collateral, liquidity, or a yield strategy across Cardano DeFi. Lava’s application says the product is mainnet-ready, audited, and has launch partners in place.

Harmonic Laboratories is building Cardano tooling and infrastructure alongside its GravityDEX product, while ADApose Labs’ Pomona Finance is developing automated vaults to help liquidity providers compound yield without relinquishing custody.

What the Genesis Cohort Will Work On

Over four weeks, the teams will work on product validation, fundraising preparation and investor introductions before presenting at Pitch Day. Draper University says it will share updates throughout the cohort.

Separate reporting from The Coin Republic said Cardano’s weekly DEX volume and active addresses rose sharply in mid-August before cooling, while total value locked remained low. The report did not establish that the accelerator caused those changes.
