First Blockchain AI Agent Integrates Custom DeepSeek Model

AI-powered blockchain assistant Klaus Agent has integrated a custom DeepSeek model, saying it’s the first one of its kind to do so.

Custom AI models are customized to meet the specific needs and goals of a particular company/user. These models are trained utilizing the intended user’s proprietary data and are tailored specifically to their text, images, and other data.

According to the press release, this latest integration has made Klaus Agent “one of the most intelligent, cost-effective, and autonomous AI agents in the market.”

Its development team has downloaded, modified, and optimized the DeepSeek large language model (LLM) to run on Klaus Agent’s GPUs. This move improved performance, efficiency, and affordability within its tech stack, the team said.

This means that Klaus Agent’s unsupervised learning framework has fully incorporated DeepSeek’s open-source model. The announcement argued that DeepSeek, unlike closed-source LLMs like GPT or Claude, allows fine-tuning, and the team uses the Klaus vectorized data to accomplish this. In turn, that enables the AI to learn and evolve thanks to real-world interactions.

“This integration means Klaus Agent is no longer just a passive AI responding to prompts,” commented Klaus Agent’s lead developer. “It’s an adaptive digital entity, capable of learning from its experiences while leveraging DeepSeek’s extensive training data.”

The team built Klaus AI agent as an advanced digital assistant. Its capabilities include voice-to-voice interactions, as well as executing real-world tasks such as sending emails, managing schedules, buying products, or even trading crypto.

Additionally, Klaus Agent doesn’t rely only on external LLMs but operates on a proprietary AI system.

The first use case of this latest AI integration is already live on the Klaus AI Agent Twitter account. It finds and verifies the latest news, cross-references multiple sources to eliminate misinformation; and presents unbiased, AI-curated insights in real time, said the team.

‘Cutting-edge AI Developed with Limited Compute Resources’

The Chinese-made artificial intelligence (AI) model DeepSeek has taken the world by storm over the past few days. The free AI-powered chatbot released its latest version on 20 January, and many have compared it favorably to ChatGPT.

What’s more, the company claims that it built the model at a fraction of the cost of massive models like OpenAI. The reason, they claim, is that it uses fewer advanced chips. More precisely, depending on the task at hand, the DeepSeek-R1 is supposedly 20-50 times cheaper to use than OpenAI o1, according to DeepSeek’s WeChat account.

“DeepSeek has proven that cutting-edge AI models can be developed with limited compute resources,” opined Wei Sun, principal AI analyst at Counterpoint Research, as quoted by BBC. “In contrast, OpenAI, valued at $157 billion, faces scrutiny over its ability to maintain a dominant edge in innovation or justify its massive valuation and expenditures without delivering significant returns.”
