In recent XRP news, RippleX launched version 1.1 of the XRP Ledger AI Starter Kit on September 17, 2026. This update adds support for the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), co-authored by Stripe and Tempo.
The MPP allows AI agents to use XRP and Ripple’s RLUSD to pay for APIs and services, positioning the XRP Ledger as a key settlement option in the emerging AI payments economy.

The MPP operates through a straightforward process: an agent requests a resource, receives a price, authorizes the payment, and then receives the resource.
Ripple also supports the competing x402 payment standard, giving developers the option to settle transactions in either XRP or RLUSD. This dual-support strategy aligns with current trends in automated agent-to-service payments and delegated permissions seen in other projects.
XRP News: How Does MPP Work on the XRP Ledger and How Does it Incorporate AI Agents?
The Starter Kit v1.1 introduces two key infrastructure components: support for the MPP and the Open Wallet Standard, which enables software to manage wallets across multiple blockchains through a single interface.
One-time payments already function with XRP and XRPL-issued assets like RLUSD, following the standard request-price-authorize-deliver flow.
A more distinctive feature is session payments. XRPL payment channels allow an agent to fund an ongoing XRP session once and make repeated payments as it consumes a service.
This arrangement enables the service provider to settle the accumulated total without recording each individual query on-chain. Extending this session mechanism to stablecoins, however, depends on a proposed ledger upgrade, and RippleX’s release notes currently lack a confirmed timeline.
The Open Wallet Standard layer adds a safety component: AI agents can initiate transactions without accessing raw private keys.
This system includes safeguards such as spending limits and approved destinations integrated into the interface. This is important for autonomous software that may make dozens or hundreds of small payments without human oversight at each step.

In other XRP news, the daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) is around 53–56, indicating a neutral stance with balanced momentum and no overbought or oversold extremes.
The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remains near neutral, with the line around 0.018–0.02, and the signal slightly higher with a modestly negative histogram. The Average Directional Index (ADX) is near 35, confirming developing trend strength.
XRP holds above the 50-day and 200-day moving averages, both clustered near $1.25–$1.30, supporting a broader bullish structure, though shorter-term EMAs (20-day around $1.36–$1.37) act as near-term resistance.
Immediate support is found at $1.36–$1.38 (a recent pivot and strong confluence), followed by $1.34 and the lower Bollinger Band near $1.28. Resistance is seen at $1.41–$1.44, with the upper Bollinger Band around $1.46 and stronger supply levels extending to $1.48–$1.54.
The Bollinger bandwidth remains moderate, indicating potential expansion after the current range-bound phase. Overall technical indicators suggest a Buy/Neutral sentiment, with the price above key longer-term averages.
A daily close above $1.44–$1.46 on increased volume could target higher price levels, while a break below $1.36 risks a deeper retest of $1.28–$1.30. Elevated volatility, indicated by the Average True Range (ATR), suggests caution in the near term.
