Dogecoin has spent the past week working back above $0.09, prompting top analysts to highlight $0.10 as the next key level to watch and drawing attention to the best meme coins that usually follow in DOGE’s wake. DOGE itself is currently trading around $0.091, up 2.2% in the past 24 hours and 10% over the last seven days. It has a $15.6 billion market cap and $940 million in daily trading volume, and although Dogecoin is still far below its May 2021 all-time high of $0.7376, its latest surge represents its best chance of reclaiming a level it previously broke below back in June.
Looking at the bigger picture, Bitcoin is priced around $79,300, and the entire crypto market is valued at $2.71 trillion (down just 0.22% today). The Fear and Greed Index is at 74, in Greed territory, and the meme coin niche is worth $30.39 billion in its own right. Dogecoin still makes up close to half of that basket – but in the high-turnover meme coin space, listed tokens are only part of the picture.
At the other end of the market cap leaderboard, crypto presales have kept raising money, and remain a cheaper way to get involved in new projects before their exchange listings. Our analysts have identified Shiba Inu (SHIB), Pepe (PEPE), and Maxi Doge (MAXI) as the three best meme coins tied to the latest Dogecoin move. SHIB and PEPE are both long-running projects with solid holder bases, making them ideal for more conservative investors, while MAXI offers greater upside potential and a live high-APY staking option even during its presale.
Shiba Inu (SHIB)
Shiba Inu (SHIB) launched in August 2020 on Ethereum and was created by an anonymous founder who called himself Ryoshi. SHIB began as a dog token built around the same Shiba Inu-related meme as Dogecoin, but it has since expanded into a fully fledged ecosystem with its own Layer 2 chain (Shibarium), a DEX (ShibaSwap), and companion tokens such as BONE (used for fees and votes on Shibarium), LEASH, and TREAT (the latter two of which enable holders to access special community rewards and on-chain features, NFTs, and more).
SHIB is used for payments within the Shiba Inu ecosystem and is accepted by over 1,000 merchants worldwide. The original supply was 1 quadrillion SHIB, but a large share was destroyed after tokens were sent to Vitalik Buterin (who burned a large portion of them), and subsequent burns have continued to reduce the float. SHIB has a market cap of $3.25 billion and ranks among the top 30 cryptocurrencies by market cap overall.
The token has followed Dogecoin higher this week, and currently trades at $0.0000055, up 1.34% on the day and 10.17% on the week.
Shiba Inu is no longer just a joke coin with a dog picture on it. Instead, it has a decentralized exchange, a Layer 2 network, additional tokens with defined roles, and a passionate community who have helped SHIB maintain its status as the second-largest meme coin by market cap. If Dogecoin keeps pressing ahead toward $0.10, SHIB has the size and the product set to keep rising with it.
Pepe (PEPE)
Pepe (PEPE) went live on Ethereum on 17 April 2023 as a homage to the Pepe the Frog meme. The contract was renounced, liquidity provider tokens were burned, and transfers incur no tax. The project set the supply at 420.69 trillion PEPE, and market data now shows 413.77 trillion in circulation.
PEPE’s design is simple on purpose, as the project does not run its own chain and has never published a product roadmap. What it does have is a finished issuance schedule, permanent early liquidity, enough trading depth for large orders, a reputation as an extremely popular coin that drove massive gains for early holders, and a clear connection to one of the internet’s most beloved meme characters. Those traits are why PEPE remains among the largest meme coins by market cap three years after its launch.
The PEPE token is trading at $0.0000036 today, putting it up 2% over the last 24 hours and 3% over the last week. Its market cap is $1.5 billion, and trading volume over the past day has reached $197.4 million, approximately three times higher than SHIB’s $64.6 million, even though PEPE’s market cap is smaller.
A $1.5 billion token that can clear $197 million in a day does not need a new story every session to attract a bid. With Dogecoin back above $0.09 and meme coin interest still supporting large bullish moves, PEPE has the float and the trading activity to move higher from here.
Maxi Doge (MAXI)
Maxi Doge (MAXI) is a new meme coin built around a heavily muscled Shiba Inu mascot, futures trading, and 1000x leverage. The project plans to run holder-exclusive post-launch contests and partnership-based events, including trading tournaments on futures platforms and MAXI trading pairs with extreme leverage. After the presale, MAXI will list on decentralized exchanges first, then centralized exchanges.
MAXI’s total supply is fixed at 150.24 billion tokens, and independent checks by SolidProof and Coinsult have confirmed the contract does not allow new coins to be minted. Its live presale price is $0.0002837, and buyers have put in $4.86 million toward a current stage target of $5.20 million. Tokens can be staked as soon as they are bought, with rewards paid daily in MAXI from a dedicated pool that currently offers a 64% APY.
5% of the MAXI supply is funding those rewards, while the remainder is split 40% for promotion, 25% for the Maxi Fund (dedicated to project exposure), 15% for development, and 15% for liquidity.

Maxi Doge is still in its presale, so its total market value is far below listed coins like SHIB and PEPE, which have already bounced with Dogecoin. However, the latest meme coin bull rally has driven inflows into the MAXI presale, giving Maxi Doge a direct path to benefit if the same Dogecoin bid continues to spread across smaller projects.
