Arthur Hayes Pulled The Trigger with $2.5M Ethereum Buy as ETH Rallies Above $1,900

Arthur Hayes is back in the news after his public sales of WLD, HYPE, and ZEC. The BitMEX founder has now bought $2.5M in Ethereum

Arthur Hayes just went on-chain again, and this time the market noticed. Ethereum is trading near $1,940, up +4.5% over 24 hours, after breaking the psychologically loaded $1,900 barrier on a cocktail of whale accumulation, short liquidations, and cooler-than-expected US inflation data.

On-chain trackers confirmed that the BitMEX co-founder purchased 1,332.5 ETH worth approximately $2.53M in a single transaction, extending a July accumulation streak that already included roughly 1,939 ETH acquired earlier this month across two OTC-style buys.

That reversal is striking given Hayes sold 6,000 ETH at a ~$606,000 loss in June, making this a very deliberate re-entry, not a casual top-up. Critics will flag his history of hyping HYPE, ZEC, and WLD before exits, but the on-chain trail here points in one direction.

The broader backdrop adds weight to the move. Newly created wallets have absorbed nearly $58M in ETH, and Binance data shows ETH ripping from $1,837 to $1,948, a +7% intraday surge, as bears got squeezed out of leveraged positions.

Can Ethereum Price Break $2,000 as Arthur Hayes Buys $2.5M in ETH

ETH is currently consolidating in the $1,900–$1,950 range after snapping resistance that previously capped multiple rallies.

Firm support sits at $1,850–$1,870, the zone reclaimed after ETH defended a double-bottom reversal around the $1,600 base, a level that held through several macro-driven shakeouts earlier this year.

Immediate resistance sits at $2,000, a level carrying both psychological and technical weight. Above that, analysts flag $2,150–$2,200 as the next meaningful supply cluster, coinciding with the 200-day moving average and prior Q1 congestion.

Three scenarios deserve attention:

  • Bull case: ETH closes above $2,000 on elevated volume, Bitrue projects a next major target near $2,438, with medium-term frameworks pointing toward $3,000 as a recovery objective.
  • Base case: ETH ranges between $1,870 and $1,990 while macro data digests, accumulation continues, and ETF headlines provide intermittent catalysts.
  • Bear/invalidation: A daily close below $1,850 reopens the $1,700–$1,750 support shelf and stalls the broader bull thesis.

Staking dynamics reinforce the supply argument. ETH staking surpassed 33% of circulating supply in June, and BlackRock’s iShares Staked Ethereum ETF is actively locking tokens; long-term price models increasingly factor in this structural supply reduction.

Tom Lee’s read is blunt: “Unlike the crypto bear market of 2022, Wall Street is building on Ethereum.”

LiquidChain Targets Early-Mover Upside as Ethereum Tests Key Levels

ETH above $1,900, with Arthur Hayes accumulating and institutions locking up supply, is a compelling setup, but at a $230Bn market cap, doubling from here requires moving a mountain.

The asymmetric window for Ethereum specifically may be narrowing. That’s where early-stage infrastructure catches traders’ attention, offering exposure to the same macro tailwinds without the heavyweight entry price.

LiquidChain ($LIQUID) is a Layer 3 infrastructure project built around a thesis that’s hard to argue with in the current environment: fragmented liquidity across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana is the single biggest friction point in DeFi.

LiquidChain’s Unified Liquidity Layer fuses BTC, ETH, and SOL ecosystems into a single execution environment, allowing developers to deploy once and access all three networks simultaneously, a Deploy-Once Architecture that directly addresses cross-chain inefficiency.

The presale is currently priced at $0.01482, with $914,285.77 raised to date. Features include Single-Step Execution, Verifiable Settlement, and the unified liquidity layer that forms the project’s core value proposition.
