Ugo Nwaokike is a practicing corporate and commercial legal practitioner and an expert in digital marketing. He is an emerging thought leader in the FinTech ecosystem in Nigeria and has written various articles addressing the need for a regulatory structure in this sector.
He is a writer, a public speaker and an entrepreneur having created over 5 organizations from business, events to magazine. He was the Co-Initiator/Project Director of Market Ibadan Business Festival (MIBF) an annual 5-day trade summit in Ibadan to promote its culture, discuss innovation and develop the city’s commerce. The event synched education, government ideologies, entrepreneurship, trade-commerce, youth-development, skill-acquisition and child support into a simple culture.
Prior to being called to the Nigerian Bar, Ugo has represented various large business enterprise in their public relations and marketing strategy. He is a leader and has served as the Public Relation Officer of the Student Union of the University of Ibadan, where he organized the maiden edition of MIBF and co –pioneered the University’s first social media network, Strictlyui.com.
His diversified and broad interest has been a major advantage in his ability to deal in varying complex commercial legal services such as tech, oil and gas, maritime, media and entertainment practice. He is committed to providing legal guidance and structural development support to start up’s with keen interest in FinTech, and IT. Recently he was invited by Dedalus Global to present his perspective on the draft guidelines for Payment Service Banks (PSB) at its maiden Africa FinTech Summit.
