George Grama is a Romanian born internet entrepreneur holding a degree in Business Management from the University of Surrey, UK. He worked at Ernst & Young in their Investment Management division before starting on his own in the software development business, a passion he had since he was a teenager.
In 2012, George launched one of the biggest taxi ordering mobile apps in Eastern Europe, Star Taxi. The apps became very popular and he then expanded by launching an international ride-share app called Mondo Ride, with market presence in Sweden, Italy, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia and now Africa.
He exited both companies through a sale in 2015 and started developing and licensing technology for transportation and mobility startups. The company grew quickly with clients all over the world launching taxi, ride-share, carpool, security, private ambulance and on-demand car mechanic services powered by the technology built by George and his team. By now the technology has powered over 150 million orders, with 130.000 orders / day and almost 5 million downloads.
The company, which is still self-funded, bought and configured two self-driving vehicles which are currently being tested. In 2018, George set up Autonomy, a Singapore corporation with the purpose of building a blockchain based secure internet for all autonomous vehicles to connect to and exchange data with each-other, with the smart city and with the apps on our smartphones.
The company tested an alpha version of the Autonomy software with great success, fully controlling a self-driving test vehicle from a smartphone, with blockchain authentication and validation. Development is continuing at full speed with the mission to make Autonomy the adopted solution by all car manufacturers and other third parties.
