We are checkitsreal. Our mission is to save lives and reduce suffering by eradicating the $1.7 trillion annual trade in counterfeit products.
Do you know that over a million people die each year as a direct result of consuming counterfeit medication?
The high cost of medication is increasingly encouraging people to buy product over the internet, leaving them vulnerable to counterfeit product.
These counterfeits are the cause of over 120,000 deaths from malaria each year in Africa.
In 2016 67 million American citizens bought prescription meds online, up to 50% of which are fake.
This problem is so big that the European parliament introduced the Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) and the US Government has passed the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA). Both initiatives have laid out a legal framework to ensure that the origin of medication can be traced back to the manufacturer.
checkitsreal has developed a (patent pending) Blockchain based ecosystem which allows anyone to verify a product’s authenticity by simply scanning a QR code using the checkitsreal app.
The app can identify that the product has already been sold and is no longer available for purchase, protecting both the consumer and the supplier from fakes.
Join checkitsreal. Let's make the world more Real.

I would like to see its progress, yes needs to address counterfeit products.

i feel this project is late to the space. Vechain, Wabi, Waltonchain are already big players. NFC chips are a lot better than QR codes as well. It's going to be hard to compete in this space. That being said, good luck with the project! It's really about partnerships and getting manufacturers on board the quickest. There are opportunities outside of Asia to make this successful but I don't think QR codes are the right way. Dynamic Tamper-proof NFC chips would be better.
That being said, I do the see the application in 3rd world countries where items like fake medicine and fake baby milk is creating an issue. This is a more cost effective solution than chips, and can be rolled out on a mass scale fairly quickly.
I've revised my initial review after discussing with the CEO and i see the market that is trying to be captured here

No customer will ever scan anything to check 'a medication is real'. This idea has no future. The checks need to be done elsewhere. I read the whole website and did not see a single proof of any validation with any pharma company of an agreement or a partnership or even an expression of interest. The "limited tokens" in the video smells of scam from far away. How are limited tokens helping to save lives in an ecosystem which is supposed to cover billions of sales per year?
The number of CIRTokens is indeed limited, as with most ICO's. Manufacturers use the tokens to purchase our QR codes. They pay is in CIR, we sell them back to the market and the cycle continues, creating a strong business need driven market liquidity.
In terms of validation, we make no claims but that we are a start up. We do have support from the Pharma sector, but this is early stages and we can't go public with this yet. In the coming months we hope that the news embargo will be lifted for us and you will see real engagement and validation.
Thank you again for your review and keep an eye on us!
