Mais un faux pas Bitcoin a permis au <strong>FBI<\/strong> de le coincer en f\u00e9vrier 2025. Comment ce hacker prolifique s\u2019est-il fait d\u00e9masquer par une op\u00e9ration aussi simple ?<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"une_traque_numerique_implacable\">Une traque num\u00e9rique implacable<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Kai West, alias IntelBroker, \u00e9tait un cauchemar pour les entreprises. En 2024, ce Britannique de 25 ans a orchestr\u00e9 47 attaques, volant des donn\u00e9es sensibles \u00e0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europol.europa.eu\/about-europol:fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Europol<\/a>, Cisco ou encore AT&amp;T. Ses m\u00e9faits ont g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 <strong>25 millions $ de pertes<\/strong>, selon le FBI.<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019ailleurs, il op\u00e9rait sur BreachForums, un forum cybercriminel o\u00f9 il <strong>vendait<\/strong> ses butins.<\/p>\n<p>Le FBI a patiemment tiss\u00e9 sa toile. En janvier 2025, un agent infiltr\u00e9 a contact\u00e9 IntelBroker sur BreachForums, proposant 250 $ en Bitcoin pour des <strong>donn\u00e9es<\/strong> <strong>vol\u00e9es<\/strong>. West, habitu\u00e9 \u00e0 utiliser Monero pour son anonymat, a commis l\u2019erreur fatale d\u2019accepter du Bitcoin. Effectivement, cette transaction a \u00e9t\u00e9 trac\u00e9e jusqu\u2019\u00e0 un compte Coinbase li\u00e9 \u00e0 son vrai nom et \u00e0 une <strong>licence de conduite britannique<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019enqu\u00eate a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 <strong>d\u2019autres<\/strong> <strong>indices<\/strong>. West utilisait la m\u00eame adresse e-mail pour son compte personnel Google, Coinbase et BreachForums. Il visionnait aussi des vid\u00e9os YouTube sur ses propres hacks, post\u00e9es ensuite par IntelBroker sur le forum. Ces <strong>empreintes<\/strong> <strong>num\u00e9riques<\/strong> ont scell\u00e9 son sort.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"les_failles_dun_hacker_trop_confiant\">Les failles d\u2019un hacker trop confiant<\/span><\/h2>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">IntelBroker Criminal Complaint<\/p>\n<p>IntelBroker a\/k\/a Kai West is facing the following charges. <\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Conspiracy to Commit Computer Intrusions<br>\u2013 Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud<br>\u2013 Accessing a Protected Computer to Defraud and Obtain Value<br>\u2013 Wire Fraud<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/IntelBroker?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#IntelBroker<\/a> was actually arrested\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GYK8intND0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/GYK8intND0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 club1337 (@club31337) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/club31337\/status\/1938292942994870501?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">June 26, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>IntelBroker se croyait intouchable. Mais malheureusement pour lui, il a publi\u00e9 <strong>158<\/strong> annonces de donn\u00e9es vol\u00e9es, entre 2023 et 2025, dont 41 ciblant des firmes am\u00e9ricaines. Ses cibles incluaient des g\u00e9ants comme <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amd.com\/fr.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AMD<\/a>, Nokia et General Electric, avec des donn\u00e9es vendues jusqu\u2019\u00e0 <strong>2,5 millions $<\/strong>. Par ailleurs, il dirigeait le forum BreachForums d\u2019ao\u00fbt 2024 \u00e0 janvier 2025, renfor\u00e7ant sa r\u00e9putation.<\/p>\n<p>Mais West a sous-estim\u00e9 les autorit\u00e9s. En plus du pi\u00e8ge Bitcoin, ses <strong>adresses IP<\/strong> correspondaient entre ses comptes personnels et ceux d\u2019IntelBroker. Il utilisait m\u00eame des mots de passe identiques. En f\u00e9vrier 2025, la police fran\u00e7aise l\u2019a arr\u00eat\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris, o\u00f9 il r\u00e9sidait sous une fausse identit\u00e9 de hacker serbe. Le FBI cherche d\u00e9sormais son extradition vers <strong>New York.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sa chute co\u00efncide avec celle de BreachForums. En mai 2024, le FBI avait saisi ses serveurs, mais le forum avait repris via un nouveau domaine. En avril 2025, un groupe rival, <strong>Dark Storm Team<\/strong>, l\u2019a mis hors ligne via une attaque DDoS, <strong>fragilisant<\/strong> l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"une_lecon_pour_les_cybercriminels\">Une le\u00e7on pour les cybercriminels<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Pour les utilisateurs <a href=\"https:\/\/icobench.com\/fr\/crypto-prometteuse\/\" rel=\"\">crypto<\/a>, cette affaire rappelle l\u2019importance de <strong>l\u2019OPSEC (s\u00e9curit\u00e9 op\u00e9rationnelle)<\/strong>. Utiliser Monero ou des VPN ne suffit pas si d\u2019autres erreurs, comme r\u00e9utiliser des e-mails, sont commises. Les plateformes comme Coinbase renforcent leurs <strong>audits,<\/strong> mais les utilisateurs doivent opter pour des cold wallets.<\/p>\n<p>En juin 2025, alors que le march\u00e9 crypto d\u00e9passe <strong>3 600 milliards $<\/strong>, la vigilance reste cruciale. L\u2019arrestation d\u2019IntelBroker est une victoire, mais d\u2019autres hackers attendent dans l\u2019ombre.
